Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Last vintage I tasted was ‘14, this one not much better. Deep ruby color with aromas of blue/black fruits with earthy herb spice. The palate tried to show off underripe fruit flavors but was overpowered with spices, oak and tannins. This full body wine has harsh tannins, with a medium(-) finish, out of balance. Will not get better with age. Pass, many others better at same price. Tasting Sample.

Heard that the Chardonnay was a decent wine so decided to try the Cabernet. $20 at Total Wines. Not a lot of depth but a pleasant enough sipping wine with our leftover Indian food at our hotel.

Balance wine, opens beautifully. Paired with Gouda cheese and it was delightful

Full, a little engineered but good with wagyu

Aromas and flavors of blackberry, chalk, cocoa, and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with full tannins. Well-balanced and satisfying.

Very light with mild aroma. I think this would be a good summer afternoon wine, slightly chilled. Not my preference for a Cab.

So much fruit, not as much balance. For this price point I may grab something from Argentina or Chile instead.

Sweet, brown sugar smell, molasses. Dark color. Very sweet, sweet aftertaste. Smooth
