Full of life. Red fruits, bright acidity, spicy, dusty tannins,

Perplexing and fascinating! Maderized nose that came and went. Attack and mid palate could easily have been mistaken for well aged PN. Very very little bricking. No idea what it was “supposed” to taste like but it was a real treat.

Like a thousand drops of the purest rain in that one section of forest where the wild berries meet the oaks... A testament to Napa and the dude.

Lovely wine. A great legacy

Highlight last night. Black cherries, coriander, clove, still years to go on this wine.

Barely holding on, but still some nice red flowers and licorice.

Feeling blessed to taste this wine. 1984. Sturdy, but probably approaching its slow declination, great acidity and balance. Lengthy tasting notes evolved over the 2 hours it breathed.

1981 vintage... Beautiful dark color and improved with time. It was strangely reminiscent of an old Barolo.
