Because when your wife spends 8 hours making the best bolognese you’ve ever had, and California is burning, you gotta break out the good stuff. Leather and sandalwood and pine duff give way to dried cherries cedar and potpourri spices under a gauzy blanket of tannins. Still vibrant with acidity and wisps of dried flowers lingering in the finish.

Jul 3rd, 2018Earthy, old-school, and soulful Brunello. Showing well with room to grow. Edgy acid spice, and supple tannin on the palate. Showing black cherry/raspberry fruit. Underneath the wine is backed by sweet spices, violets, red apple skin, and an earthy core of forest floor, tar, sweet tobacco and leather. A little VA lift that I don't mind at all. Loving the herbal astringency on the finish, fennel, dried herbs, cinnamon, smoke.
