Pistus Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese

I got it for the Mascalese and stayed for the Cappuccio, but ended up leaving with warm figgy tobacco. I normally am really into that. I probably should have decanted.

I used to really hate the expression “it is what it is” but I find myself using it more and more of late.

The truffled steak tartare probably needs just a touch less rusticity and a bit more upfront fruit.

Fresh / juicy

Such a pretty wine for a pretty Sunday night crunchy red fruit & dry earth and enough structure to stand up to a bit more chilly weather! Well-balanced and delicious! 🙌

Black cherries. Rustic. Bit dirty.

Tightly wound up. Dense, dark fruit. Checking back in later. Maybe we should have opened this up in 2027

Should be promising, not so much brett as the 2013. Tightly wound at this point.
