Estate Alsace Marnes-Marl Riesling

Grapes a bit moldy. Rich Riesling flavors totally dry.

floral. acasia, citrus, not honey. Dry, mid+ to Flat acidity, hard.

Famille Hugel Estate Riesling 2012; debut vintage; replaces Tradition tier Riesling; all Estate fruit; Marnes-Marl soil.

Righteously representative #alsaceriesling - lemon, acacia, delicate white flower aromas, dazzling acidity on the palate, some slight spicy notes on the finish. At this age there are no petrol notes which the wife appreciated.

Solid wine, lacking a bit of character but the texture and acidity were both solid. Nice wine but nothing to get too excited about.

Flinty!

Good minerality, apples and apricots with caramel and waffles showing through

Robust, breathtaking vanilla notes straight out of the bottle. Light, well-rounded, and acidic. Clean, with no residual acidity. A summer wine that’s also serious. $30ish
