You're actually supposed to say "rippa," which means really awesome in Australian slang. After one sip of this, you can see why they named it that

Ripper indeed!!! Australian Shiraz that exceeds expectation. Bright rich cherry and raspberry. Benchmark Shiraz.

Positively delicious 8 year old #westernaustralia #shiraz. Unlike many Oz Shiraz, legitimate varietal aromas of smoked meat, black olive, black/purple fruit, leather. Gratifying acidity on palate balances out rich dark fruit, finishing with coffee notes, a touch of black pepper and fine tannins. Excellent wine.

Interesting story about this wine...grown & crushed in Western Australia, the put into refrigerated trucks and transported 3 days to Hunter Valley for finishing. Not terribly complex but pleasant enough. Houston Costco low cost find.

Love this wine!

Rich and full bodied with a spicy finish. Perfect for pizza or barbecue.
