Here we are the first weekend of the new year 2018. I would like to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous new year. Tonight I have opened the 2008 Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to start the beginning of a new beginning.
On the nose I am getting a very nice dark fruit thing happening. There is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, licorice, tar, leather, musk, a birt of toasty oak and dark rich earth.
On the palate the dark fruit continues with black cherry, blackberry, black currant, licorice, mint, sweet oak and an earthiness.
This wine is full bodied with a full round mouth feel. There is medium + acidity with medium + firm tannins that leads to a long finish with continued fruit throughout. Have a great start to the weekend and to the new year. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Rich raspberry and cherry fruit on the nose baked up up by coconut & vanilla oak. Overly oaky and a touch hollow on the mid palate but tannins are infused with a nice spiciness.

Cedar, dark fruit flavors and this taste lingers for a while. A nice big wine.

Loved it in '09 and love it exponentially more now. Beautiful structure, hints of plum, cranberry with a hint of spice on the finish. Such a stunning wine from a wonderful winery that is still true to its Napa roots.
