Vareij Brachetto

Drank over two days May 2022. Initially floral on the nose, lilacs and iris’, with a tight ripe raspberry and strong acid finish. Mellowed in 24 hours and rounded out to become more dark fruit and refreshing. Both styles were enjoyable, though I prefer the latter. Excellent!

85% brachetto & rest barbera—expected a lighter body but quite medium bodied. Wildflowers & dark cherries on the nose. Quite streamlined in its mouthfeel, no jagged edges: black fruits dominant, and fresh & buoyant. Had this producer years ago, now remember why I liked so much- this has soul, but also the precision (in terms of clarity of flavors) that I seem to find in very good producers.

60% Brechetto, 40% Barbara. Red berries with black pepper notes, dried rose, violet, all spice, red cherry, menthol, dried herbal note in the nose, tart and sour cherry, licorice, fig and prune on the palate. Med acidity and med to med plus tannin and med plus finish. Leave ur mouth dry with pleasant floral and orange citrus note. Somewhat refreshing. Such a lovely wine for its buck.

Lifted aroma of rose, lychee, citrus, and juicy raspberry. Light and fruity.

Light bodied, subtly funky, rather enticing. Balanced as well, in its earthy-light approach. Somehow still felt a bit withholding, & found myself pining for a dolcetto....

2013. Damn good juicy with a taut finish. Impeccable balance.
