Decent everyday Ribera Del Duero. Much brettier than expected.

earthy, savory and herbal notes envelope a soft core of dried and candied fruit ~ pretty cool they separated this parcel of old vine Tempranillo originally slated for their Gran Reserva and held release back for over a decade

The flavor profile is kind of like Cab Franc, with notes of dehydrated strawberry (like Special K red berries), mushroom, and a kiss of oak. Medium bodied. Wonderful acid, and still had some tannins.

Resolved and drinking well, this was a pleasantly old school in its style. Dark stewed fruit, leather, turned earth, grandma closet on the nose. Good structure all around and an appropriate use of oak that doesn’t take away from the balance of the wine. Very enjoyable.

Very rustic and old world style. The way I like it. A little short on the finish but very very enjoyable.

This wine is forest floor on the nose and meat in the mouth. Tannic, acidic, balanced, beautiful.
