July 22, 2017. Found this in my cellar with a note to drink in 2015-16. Oops. Opened it thinking it might be past prime. But it was not! Moreover, I found a fabulous, medium-full bodied wine, deep garnet color, luscious red fruit on the nose. Best $13 bottle of wine I've ever had. Too bad there is no more.

A clear bright garnet, the '11 Herencia Altés Garnatxa Negra displays a robust nose of black raspberry, black cherry and black licorice. A huge mouthful of sweet black fruits, mineral and cinnamon flavors follows. The harmonious finish is moderate in length and intensity.
