Private Selection Alentejo Sémillon

What a hedonistic wine, this Esporao 2017 from Portugal’s Atlentejo region. An exotic nose of orange marmalade, marzipan, honey and vanilla, followed by a full bodied, sumptuous palate with great energy but depth.

Nutty and oxidative, but very good acidity.

A blend of 40% Aragonez, 30% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Trincadeira & 10% Cab Sauv, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits with herb, mint and spicy notes. On the palate plum and blackberry flavors with cinnamon and minty pepper spice. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and spice. Drinking well now.

Good length, dried white boned fruit, almonds, hood body, structure and length

An unusual wine, Semillion from Portugal. Floral, salty nose. Crisp, tart palate with lemon, peach and minerals. Deep and quite distinctive. Noticeable oak. Better with food.

Gereift aber trotzdem noch frisch, im Glas schon richtig bernsteinfarben, muss man mögen, mir gefällts

Tinto rojo. Delicious. Gave it a couple hours to open. Deep, rich, bit of spice. Great w food

This was great. Notes of slightly oxidized apples, I’ve been into lately. Minerally.
