Clean, correct and, at best, closed. The make doesn't show much, neither roasted/mineral tones nor overt fruit. Can't quite figure the huge scores and promotion of this

Quite a rich ruby red with hint of purple. Looks younger than 5 years. Dense dark fruits on nose, ripe cherry and spicy oak. Fuller bodied than expected. A certain silkiness and easy to drink. A blend but mainly Touriga Nacional.

Deep purple. Aromatically shy. Not very rich in aromas; neither fruity nor particularly mineral. Pretty good pairing with grilled lamb chops (rosemary, garlic, lemon, evoo) and pork tenderloin (guajillo, pasilla, garlic, cumin, vinegar).

Fine. Short, a bit aggressive with the tannin and lacking in everything else. I think of wines like this as "summer abroad" wines because they remind me of the cheap stuff I drank when backpacking. Better this than a Carlsberg...

Dark fruit (overripe); violet and leather; spice; not the best
