Finally opening this wine from Jennifer’s farewell luncheon and it is exquisite! Mike Trujillo’s winemaking prowess is on display and there is the perfect blend of strength and finesse with this wine. I love these wines and sad we don’t get to look forward to more vintages of her brand but glad that TRB has taken the reigns of what the vineyard has to offer.

Medium ruby red with a little bit of sediment in the glass. Still quite dark and powerful on the nose and palate with notes of plums, crushed gravel, cassis, blackberries, baking spices and some tertiary notes like cedar and forest floor. Well rounded with medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and a medium plus to full bodied. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2022.

Herb Lamb Vineyard. Impressive harmony ripe & rich but not oily-fatty instead a solid spine of acidity along with grippy tannins. Long life ahead.

Apr 12th, 2018Just beginning to evolve with a couple of decades ahead. Pure and focused berry notes and nervy textures. Drinkable now especially if you prefer younger reds.

Killer bottle from Ben. Lots of red and black fruits on the nose. Sweet vanilla too. Palate showed lots of fruit medley but it shined on the finish. Pipe tobacco and plum. Stunning complexity. If you have this, don’t miss this drinking window.

Double decant (moderate sediment) and pour. An alluring dark inky/purple color. On the nose: cherry, floral, cassis, and hints of cinnamon. Taste: BlackBerry, black cherry, spice, with chocolate/pencil lead at the end...nicely integrated and lush mouth feel ....medium length finish..definitely got a few more years in it if you can wait.
