Great wine.not as big as you think it should be but still amazing.almost has a port type character to it and would be great with a strong salty stilton.

Last wine of the night at #MVON 6
Medium bodied, balanced, fruity but not jammy. My thoughts of big Barossa reds are fading.

Black concentrated fruits, bit of spice, vanilla. Not much tannin.

Good black fruits, perhaps a bit soft. More acidity/tannin?

Thank you Heirloom for sending us this delicious sample to try, it went down a treat with some dark chocolate rocky road 😋

In the glass it’s a deep plum red colour. Super elegant on the nose with notes of black peppered strawberries, dark chocolate ganache and blackberries. It has a juicy and voluptuous mouthfeel however the flavour is not overwhelming. Everything is perfectly balanced and in sync with this wine.

All opinions are my own. Drink what you enjoy!

Shiraz and curry - get in my belly!! I love this combo, it just hits the spot for me. What’s your favourite Shiraz food match?

Sending a big thanks over to Heirloom Vineyards for this 2019 Barossa Valley Shiraz sample bottle. It really was a match made in heaven for our spicy chicken curry.

This wine has won many awards such as:

🏆 Sommelier International Wine & Spirits Competition 2020 – Gold Medal, 93 Points

🏆 San Francisco International Wine Show 2020 – Gold Medal

It was matured in both American and French oak for 18 months and retails for $40. The winemakers behind this fab bottle are Elena Brooks & Rosie Signer. Nice work ladies 💪

My opinion:

It’s a generous blue-purple-red colour in the glass. Super beautiful! Fresh juicy berry fruits, sweet vanilla, black pepper and some delicious dark chocolate come through on the nose for me. While on the palate it’s refined yet has an oh la la depth of flavour to it and it hangs around in the mouth long after you swallow. A true pleasure to drink!

This #wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

2010 Barossa Shiraz. Pleasant nose, smooth to drink. Long finish. In between Mollydooker’s Boxer & Blue Eyed Boy.

The wine is very nice but also very subtle and smooth. Hints of chocolate, apples and some acidity of tomato gives it a pleasant aroma but with a smooth touch and aftertaste. $23
