Lovely red color tinged with purple. Smells fresh and strange. Berries in deep, but rocks and trees are there too. Flavors are herbal, chewy and meaty. Tobacco, tomatoes, grape leaves, and cherry pie. This is a tasty Cab. Complex, dense and off-beat. The herbal and earthy stuff is quite lovely.

A second label from Stags Leap Wine Cellars that they shut down 10 years ago. More table wine than something memorable and the exact reason they no longer make it.

$3.99. I realize one can get perfectly acceptable quaffers in Europe for a couple euros, but this price point stateside will usually result in a sugar rush or a massive hangover. So what of this California cabernet? It is dry. It is not bereft of character nor structure. It is not particularly memorable. At ten years of age, it has not evolved for the better or worse. It complements food (merguez, in our case). It is, in short, an excellent table wine. More of these, please.

A very dry affair. No prominent flavours but overall we liked it. Enjoyed it with shaved asiago. Tasted better after a day being opened.

Strong alcohol nose. Tart, med to high tannins. Nasal clearing. Harsh finish hard to dissect palate.
