Big, satiny, and typically ripe CA Pinot. Dried lavender, sage, and campfire smoke weave around the plush strawberry and Bing cherry fruit. Day three with no preservation and fruit has gone a touch sugary, but secondary flavors are solid and tannins are, in fact, velvety.

On PnP, quite a fruit bomb. With some air, this opens up into a typical earthy pinot. Quite nice.

Bright and robust on the nose with notes of raspberries and blueberries with notes of wild flowers and violets. Juicy and medium bodied on the palate. Rich on the palate with fruit forward flavors of juicy berries and hints of spice, bitter earth and oak. The long finish is filled with soft tannins and easy acidity.

Classic Velvet fruit profile. Heavier wood than in past years. A nice effort in this challenging vintage.
