Haras de Pirque
Hussonet Gran Reserva Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
I think this is my last bottle, 🙁. It is showing very well. Still a deep, vibrant purple violet color. Nose offers fleshy black fruits, with just enough herbal/leafy/tobacco-cigar box to lend interest but not obscure the fruit. The texture is resolved and ample, medium+ body. Served w falafel and homemade sourdough, griddled flatbreads.

Apr 23rd, 2020Just the right amount of tobacco leaf/herbal funk to match with Hatch green chili pork.

Oct 3rd, 2019Overly grassy and herbaceous. Not much fruity notes left after seven years, probably should have drunk young. Tight tannin and acidic.

Nov 30th, 2017A bit alcoholic and a little firm. Coming back on day two is a revelation. Classically aromatic with currant leaf, firmly dry/sharp blackberry and noble tannins.

1 person found it helpfulSep 28th, 2015I may be biased, but this wine is fascinating. May be my new fave find. Reminds me of Harvest in Prosser; a mix of hop and concord aromas. Silky smooth.

Feb 26th, 2016Opaque purple. Aromas of currant and leafy tobacco. Just the style I prefer from cooler climate Chilean vineyards.

Dec 17th, 2014Cheap, no depth and 'gran reserva' label is utterly bs!

Sep 13th, 2016Wow. Complex & vibrant. Plum, blackcurrant, manchego/mature cheddar, green herbs, bell pepper, and long dry cacao finish. Well beyond its $10 price. Better if sat for 2+ hours after opening. The 2011 will taste better in 2018, it's a bit too high on tannins.
