Really nice balance of nominal oak, pretty fruit, and a trace of minerality. Decanted for a few hours but this needs more time.

A slightly oilier nosed moth lemon confit, salinity and A longish finish. Very good

Darker than the straight 07 with richer and more oxidative notes. Slightly over but with a richer and more complex midpalate. Not sure where this goes In the next few years.

The two words on this back label that stand out are intense and age-worthy. This wine at five years old is still, almost prohibitively, youthful. Oak and vanilla (so lightly), lemon and lime and apple, fresh white flowers, lacy minerality, woodsy notes to finish, and enough acid to etch monuments. Monuments like this wine. A special bottle. Decanted one hour, and that wasn't nearly long enough.

Tonight's simple meal of grilled chicken and stemmed veggies didn't stand a chance against this sublime offering. A tasting note is almost pointless as it would simply be a string of wine-focused superlatives. Anybody who says "I don't like chardonnay" has never tasted Hanzell.

Electric style, just when you think this wine might be too big the acid rolls in and takes care of everything.

Initially tasted as "pop n' pour" and rated 93, I tasted this again with 24 hours of air and it has improved remarkably...!!
Beautifully balanced with everything in place now and plenty in reserve this deserves a 95-rating.
Great wine!!

Wow. Mineral, acid, citrus. Are we sure this is from Sonoma and not Burgundy?
