Low price point? Yes, but when compared to similarly priced wines from the South of France, this one falls short. This vintage was oak-chipped, sweetened, and hard-edged. My friend’s grocery store environment could have been part of the issue, but this is a recent vintage. Bottom line: spend $3-5 more on a Cote du Rhône.

This wine has won a ton of awards. I can see why. The GSM soars out of the glass. Plums, blueberries, macerated black fruit tarte. Tar, cigar box, a hint of wet tobacco and anise. This is a fun wine!

Truly one of my favorites. Has a bit more fruit and zing that the Rhone blends lack. Great mouthfeel and long finish for the price point. Well done Hahn.
