Guy Breton
Vieilles Vignes Morgon Gamay
Ripe but with a strong pulse of acidity. Seems to be closed down at the moment showing mostly cranberry but it’s all there on the palate. Has that wildness and ethereality that’s so special when Breton is on.

Oct 15th, 2021Sourced from the Saint Joseph and Grand Crus subzones of the appellation, which give fine, stony wines. A high-lying sandy parcel gives more complexity, structure, and acidity to the wine. Medium Ruby with red fruit and floral aromas. On the palate flavors of red plum, cherry, banana and earthy mint. Vivid acidity, medium fine tannins, dry with a medium+ finish. Very good and some bottle age will benefit. Tasting Sample.

Apr 2nd, 2019In a year where hail destroyed upwards of 80% of crop for some winemakers, Guy Breton’s Morgon is still seriously awesome. I love his wines first for the texture - soft and supple, there is a concentration of fruit that doesn’t need any defense from tannin or grip. They are comfortable and fluid, nearly creamy. You can drink and enjoy for the texture alone or you can dissect and find layers of nuance to think about. Your choice.
The 2017 Morgon has aromas of red berries, green stems, and red flowers with flavors of raspberries and minerals. This year it’s softer and just slightly more finessed than his Brouilly.
