What a nose. Lemon oil and crushed rocks. Herbs. Soil tones. So elegant and nimble. Elegant and expansive nose. Palate is a mineral bomb but has a rainwater freshness and wonderful meyer lemon fleshy fruit and also crystallized lemon drop. Sappy and pure but needs air. What a slathering mineral finish. Air will be this wine’s friends. Now a confectionary note on the nose is coming through. Man this is like a liquid rock quarry. This is getting more textured with air and becomes concentrated and squishy. So wonderful.

Aug 8th, 2023Haven’t had in a minute and wow this is stunning. Nose is super mineral with some notes of rock, rock and more rock. Have I said that this wine is mineral yet? Palate is an exercise in grace and finesse with such finely crushed rocks and almost no fruit, the way I like it. Iodine and saline notes on the nose. This is a remarkably elegant wine. Some apricot, peach develop and some juuuuuust ripe citrus. Has that killer 19 focus. With air this is getting more concentrated and the airy minerals are really compelling. A brilliant wine. This is 9.5 to 9.6 now.

Apr 30th, 2024Reductive and a bit closed with a herby, a touch bitte note. Juicy, racy acidity with underripe lemon. Yet there’s some darker character - not the flowery light type. Quite some weight & power. Yet not so much charm.
Somehow Nahe doesn’t shine in ‘22.
