Aug 25th, 2022Wow. Deep, mineral, super complex aromas. Stunning. Love love this site. Pineapple, but juuuust ripe. Palate is massive, intense, superbly mineral and dry dry dry. Wow is this deep. The nose has a breadth and pungency that is trademark Bastei. Really dense and chewy. Barely ripe Meyer Lemon. Pulls off the sweet and sour thing so well. Delicate yet big. What a massive structure, depth and concentration. Sappy and structure to burn. Really takes over your mouth. This is glorious. Will likely greatly improve with air. What a looong finish. After air the nose gets that hand lotion. Sandy. Salty. Roundness to the nose. Backend is so young. Needs 5 years.

Incredible wine, having it at the vineyard makes it even more special. This wine grows in a high concentration volcanic/copper terroir. The nose is different than anything you’ve held and the flavors keep going and going. Drinking this 9year old brings strong flavors and enhances the minerals of the land around Gut Hermannsberg. If you can find a bottle enjoy!!!

Easy drinking. Dry, acidic, minerally, not too bubbly. Delicious. Went well with schnizle!
