Deep garnet glass with scarlet translucent rim. On the medium nose, oak/wood, cigar box and cherry/blackberry with a hint of anise. Initial sip of juicy mild acid brings slightly tart cherry/raspberry/blackberry with oak, cola, bramble, tobacco and black pepper. Medium tannins lead to a medium long finish of dark chocolate, red berries and bramble. Good balance and ok structure means this is better with light dishes such as chicken. Good mid-week value at 11.98 USD.

Good, deep red color. Smells jammy (currant, blueberry) and lightly spicy. Medium bodied, easy drinking, barely-there tannin. Not as much depth as I'd hoped, but a nice grocery store cab nonetheless.
