Greywacke
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Pale lemon with aromas of citrus and tropical fruit with floral notes. On the palate flavors of peach guava, lime and pear fruit with floral and some floral tones, lively acidity adding wet stones. Medium+ finish ending, slightly creamy, with fruit, herbal, floral and salty mineral notes. Nice! Not a typical NZ SB, very muted letting aromas and flavors mixing well together.

Apr 13th, 2023This 2021 Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough is richly aromatic with notable purity of fruit: black currant, nectarine, tropical fruit and citrus. It offers concentration and a ripe, succulent mid-palate. The acidity provides length on the zesty, passionfruit-infused structured finish. $23.00 (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, March 2022)

Mar 14th, 2022Very surprised at how tasty this wine was for a price under $20 a bottle. Great tropical notes, tasted as it had been aged on oak and will be my new porch pounder.

Mar 27th, 2021The 2021 Sauvignon from Greywacke is classic yet classy. It is richly aromatic yet not flamboyant, with good purity of fruit: expect flavors of black currant and nectarine alongside subtle tropical fruit and citrus. Due to a naturally low-yielding season, it offers impressive concentration and a ripe, succulent midpalate. The fine, mouthwatering acidity provides length and line on the zesty, passionfruit-infused, lightly structured finish. Delightful in youth, but it will evolve and provide a different Sauvignon experience in five to seven years. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, March 2022)

Fresh and clean. Always a favorite of mine. The make a PN but hard to find. I would love to try it.

Lots of acid. Jalapeño and green pepper. Some wax. Hint of underripe pineapple. Food friendly. Bitter finish.
