Dry, tannic, restrained, vegetal but lithe. Earthy flavors of sage, blood, and stone. A very interesting, cryptic Tempranillo.

Restrained but wonderfully well structured Tempranillo. Black plum, black pepper, black berries, and black angus! Just kidding about that last one ;) It is kind of meaty though, in a serano ham sort of way. Subtle anise and coffee hints add some beautiful background notes. Yum!

A dense dark red, the '08 Gramercy Tempranillo 'Inigo Montoya' opens on the nose with blackberry, espresso, violet and earthy licorice scents. It reveals plush dark fruit and baking spice flavors on the supple, full-bodied palate. Excellent depth and concentration on the long creamy finish. Walla Walla's homage to Spain.

Evocative of traditional Rioja with medium bodied, spicy red fruit & the vanilla/dill notes of American oak. A good candidate for some cellar time as it shows quite a bit of tannic structure.

Opened this one hoping to delve into something unique . . . and of course Gramercy delivered. Leather & dark cherries, hint of cedar and spice. Like walking into a classy man-cave. :)

75% Tempranillo, 10% Grenache, 10% Syrah & 5% Carignan. On the nose, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, pepper, spice, leather, tobacco, dry herbs, smoked meats, mushroom, black licorice & fresh purple florals. Fruits on the palate; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries and cherries bring up the rear. Black licorice, cigar, pepper, spice, leather, tobacco, dry herbs & dry stones. The tannins are M+ with a M body. There is very nice, structure, length and balance. Definitely has some cellaring ability. The finish is long & rich...50% fruit, 30% spice and 20% earth. Photos of, a vineyard photo hanging in their tasting room, their newer concrete fermenting tanks and another one of their vineyards.

Yummy in that modern tempranillo oaky fashion. I need to put the others down for a couple years.
