Yoeman Vineyard Single Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

Black cherry, raspberry, licorice, vanilla, currant, oak and hints of eucalyptus. Full-bodied and velvety tannins.

Last night I had the pleasure of being with close friends for an evening of reminiscing and life long friendship. We got to open the 2010 Goldschmidt Vineyards Single Vineyard Yoeman Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the nose was black cherry, blackberry, plum, lack currant, cassis, nutmeg, violets, dark chocolate, vanilla, smokey oak and a good dose of rich earth.

On the palate was rich black cherry, sumptuous blackberry, black plum, tobacco, cassis, chocolate, spice, smokey oak and rich dusty soil.

The wine is full bodied with a silky smooth mouth feel with medium acidity and medium to plus smooth fine tannins that lead right to a long enjoyable finish. This wine made the evening even that more enjoyable and just goes to show that wine can accentuate what was already a beautiful evening of friendship. Have a great week and please be safe. Holy crap this wine blew me away. Started off with a bit of an understated nose, but as it opened up in the glass, it was ALL menthol, mint, and eucalyptus. I kid you not, it smelled like I had accidentally dropped a piece of Dentyne Ice gum in the glass. Stunning aromatics. Actually reminds me of a bottle of '05 d'Armailhac I had a few months back because of that menthol on the nose. Balanced and firm on the palate. Drinking really well. Snatch it up if you can find it.

Sold bottle of juice. A touch of tannins catch you on the back end, but until then it is unbelievably smooth. A few years in bottle and this puppy would sing

2014 is fantastic in 2020. Very smooth with currant black licorice and tobacco tones.
