A truck load of blackberries, baking spices and balsamic. The mouthfeel is luxurious, like wrapping you palate in velvet. A thick, massive wine and yet, it stops short of ponderous. Not really my style of wine but undeniably well made. Would be really good with grilled meat. Can drink now or years and years to come.

Just a monster Shiraz. Full of dark rich fruit and chocolate. Fully immersed in new oak but perfectly balanced. Screams for a steak!

Opening bottle releases pepper and spice aromas. Pour reveals deep violet with ruby colour rim. Initial flavours echo pepper as the wine opened raspberry and blackberry flavours came forward. Absolutely gorgeous. Marinated lamb and homemade biscuits to accompany.

Open for 7 hours. Blackberry jam, blueberry pie, soy sauce, eucalyptus, and licorice. Deep and extracted. Slurpy mouthfeel with charcoal and toasty oak meeting surprisingly fresh fruit - dark cherry stands out. Tannins are bold but integrated, acidity is there too which makes this a home rum. Pair with a big fat ribeye.

Taste of iron, rust and bubble gum with a sustained finish and sense of purpose ........and the Amon-Ra wasn't bad either......great combo for the real fish and chips....although didn't quite hold up to the most acidic of acidic pickled onions...
