A beautiful bottle showing both elegance and finesse. Pomegranates, red cherries, violets and hints of soil. Finishes with terrific length and seductive texture.

Dark and fine bright elegant red berries. Soft tannins savory essences. Cherries and softness. Yum!

Elegant and perfumed, dried red flowers, strawberries, hints of coffee grinds and herbs. Finishes long, lifted and fresh with very good complexity.

Last bottle of the case but best showing. Perfume all out there, red flowers, cherry wood. So deep, pure, leathery, elegant. Black truffle and secondary notes of spice and black cherry. Benefitted from a 45 min decant. Years to go.

Il Ritrivo in Positano. Popped and poured. Light scarlet in the glass. Thin and translucent. This starts off very quiet, offering some ripe cherries and spice. With air it gains a little bit of body and adds some nice sweet fruit but never emerges fully to show what it’s got. Compared to the A Conterno Cicala next to it, this is delicate, feminine and a bit of a surprise it didn’t have more to show. Not sure about this. Probably just needs time.

Shockingly old tasting. Maderized fruit. I’m guessing poorly stored.

Beautiful and super refined, silky and totally transparent, this belongs to the most Burgundian expressions of Barolo I’ve ever encountered. As far from over extraction as you could possibly get. Dangerously accessible already.
