La Gemella Barbera d'Alba

Juicy, quite fleshy and fresh
Enjoyable, but nothing more

Dinner at the producer’s restaurant Buon Padre in Vergne, just west of Barolo; the wine is deep blueish-purple in color and with viscous leggy texture (dry, 14% alc.); blue and dark tart fruits and country spices on the nose; medium acids and dry small tannins on the palate with a fruity sinple and robust character, without oak. Seems very well made.

Had with grilled pizza. Terrific. This is a nice barbera- fruity-blackberry and a little tartness, nice acids. Pretty fun drinking.
