The 2016 Roero Bric Valdiana is another compelling wine in this range from Almondo. Dark cherry, menthol, licorice, spice, cedar and blood orange are all laced together in a deep, flavorful Roero endowed with real character and tons of class. The 2016 needs time in bottle to shed some tannin, but it is super-impressive today. Sweet red cherry, mint, blood orange and star anise add the closing shades of nuance. There is a ton to look forward to. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2020)

Mar 25th, 2020Spice box, tar, vanilla, touch of menthol. Great tension between old school/new school elements; 50% barrique, but not overdone or slick. Another fantastic '13 Piemonte wine! #roero #almondo #nebbiolo #piemonte
