Dolcetto d'Alba

Light colored with orange and red hues. Smells strongly of ripened cherries, sandalwood, and leather. Opens nicely into bruised strawberries and raspberry, but also an earthiness that isn’t too appealing. Pretty tightly wound with strong acidity but medium-minus body. Touches of oak and vanilla, with some other baking spices.

Almost dead.

Do not care for this; Strangely savory; chives and Boursin cheese, spice, tart ; high acid, moderate tannins

Even more enjoyable & affordable is their #Dolcetto! Plums, meat, & chalk. Would be even better if finish lingered a bit longer.

Nice dolcetto. Red fruit. Balanced acid and RS.

Needs a ton of air and probably some more years. Was more Pinot like at first, but strengthened into a moderate cab. Easy drinking but lacks boldness. Tiny finish. Got a good price on this guy, but still disappointed.

This is supposedly a great example of dolcetto, but I found it one dimensional. Smells like blackberry pie with a side of dirt. I should mention I have never found a dolcetto I like.

Great basic red for a red sauce dinner

Pretty dry. Moderate aftertaste. Cherry is prominent. The contrast between first and last taste within a swig is a bit too big.

Tart cherry; light balsamic; dry
