This wine is medium garnet in color.

On the nose & palate are deeply concentrated notes of dried fig, prune, plum, blackcurrant, black cherry, juicy pomegranate, wild strawberry preserves, black licorice, anise, fennel, clove, cardamom, acrylic, balsamic, violet, rose, potpourri, forest floor, potting soil, black tea, & crushed gravel…

This wine has high acidity & tannins, which are fine & integrated with the deeply concentrated aromas & flavors.

The finish lingers. This wine is excellent and holding up beautifully with runway ahead of it still.

2005 vintage hardly reckognisable as Barolo. So sweet silky and soft. Great wine.

A little too soon. Drank within window but could have used a few more hours decanting or another year to three in the "cellar". Plenty of yummy tar and leather and black fruit...just tough to work through tannins even with decanting, sitting and rich + heavy food pairing. (Still was a great experience!)

Haven't tried this yet but the guy at Eataly in Milan says the 2004 Barolo is great.
