Dark soft fruit. Leather, dark sour plum, soy, dried herbs, dark cherry, a hint of tomato. Very pure and still lively. Excellent.

Much about the terroir was left to enjoy. @Paul T I gotta get you into vintage Barolo's. And out from the alley near a dumpster. 😂

Unknown vintage, probably from the 1950s. The neck label states "Riserva Speciale" (NV?). Sadly the bottle on the right showed signs of seepage so definitely wasn't at its best. Still lovely and sweet on the palate, with potentially balanced acidity, though a touch too volatile in this bottle - also quite dusty and the nose was a little flabby. Tried over 3 hours in the glass but without significant improvement. Will have the other bottle soon - expect this to be much better.
