Vibrant cherry pop in the glass. Pale pink mousse and fine persistent bubbles. Inviting nose of musty dried cherry. Confirmed on the medium palate which adds dark toast with bright acidity. Not much of a finish but what's there continues the palate before the sudden drop. Not a complex rosé Champagne, but sometimes that's what one wants. Drink now with shrimp cocktail or complex dishes like curry. It won't get in the way.

Sipping Fine Wine

Mumm was founded in 1827, and its well-known Cordon Rouge was launched by 1875, decorated with the now-famous red ribbon of the Legion of Honor. Golden yellow with a bouquet of stone fruits with citrus, honey and yeasty tones. Plenty of bubbles dancing in the flute. Complex apple and pear flavors, nutty characteristics and minerality carry this wine to a lingering finish ending with a distinctive minersl taste from the soil and some toasty notes.

Anniversary gift from the parents. Fun to drink. A bit sweeter than other bruts I’ve had. Was even better the third day with the proper stopper in it.
