What an odd Syrah! Worth drinking, yet you have to suspend your belief of Syrah.

This smell and tastes more Northern RhĆ“ne than the vast majority of Walla Walla Syrahs Iāve had. Nose is smoky, iron-y, bloody, with spicy sharp blackberry in the background. Relatively (for Walla Walla) lean and savory in the mouth, itās got surprisingly good acidity. Should go well with the steak Iām about to grill outside.

Lighter side of heavy bodied, cedar, white pepper, menthol, a touch of smoke.
Really well made with precise harmony of the acidity and tannin. Amazing vale, great winemaker.

Delicious Syrah with chuck roast and roasted carrots and squash ($20). Spicy snd mellow.

N: sweet smoke, blackberry, dark plum, bacon fat
P: tart black fruits, sour cherry, juicy, plus a little charcoal, bramble

Color of dark purple, clear with blue and gray hue on the rim. Nice legs. Nose is plenty, aldehyde, blackberry, a bit fermented cabbage and prune, ripe grapes, oak, and some more fermented cabbage. Taste follows the nose, mixed with good grapefruit acidity and mellow tannins. Some more minerals on the 2nd sip. Lots of flavors. Aftertaste shows some more zest and dried strawberry, a bit sweetness too. Good one.
