Smooth and juicy - paired well with a variety of aged cheeses, olives & crackers. A bit of barrel taste in the finish in this 2014 vintage, which could either be a distraction or a character, depending on your taste. Overall, enjoyable with or without food.

2014 open August 2017. A little raw out of the bottle. Pour off a glass, put the cork back in the bottle let it sit for 24 hours (like you would with a Bordeaux), and all the rough edges disappear. Nice smooth tannic structure. Good drinking wine.

Met the winemaker at a tasting in Palo Alto. Nice guy. His wine has no bouquet. Thin with a pleasantly dry finish. Not a lot of fruit. Reminds me of a dry Sangiovese.

Dark cherry and berries, but not overly sweet. Medium structure and light tannins. It paired well with Mediterranean food (grilled lamb, beef and chicken). Will buy again.
