Nose is ultra-ripe. A little pruney, cherry cough syrup. Full and ripe but not jammy in the mouth. Nice tannic structure. Surprisingly good acidity for 15.5%. But ultimately, it’s just simple and large.

Jan 29th, 2019Wow, loved this. Black/red fruits, raisinated, baked, fruits, no new oak, high booze, medium plus tannins and medium acid. Paired great with bbq chicken. I could have mistaken for amarone/ripasso, but this likely has more tannin. Well balanced. Need more!

Ripe red fruit. Herbaceous. A little funky this 2010 when we opened it, with a little air it turned wonderful. Well balanced tannins and lingering finish

Upgrading rating in 1/2022 after waiting 4 years. Still ruby red with bright dark berry nose. Nice acidity yet strong tannins on opening. After an hour of air tannins subsided and dark red and blue berries were present balanced with a definite undergrowth and prominent mineral intensity. Long complex finish. Glad I waited to retry.
