A big thanks to the Gemtree team for sending this beauty over to try. The Luna Temprana Tempranillo is given this name to symbolise the wine's growth via the lunar cycle and due to the fresh and fruity joven styles of Spain to which the wine can be likened to. Gemtree's vineyards are 100% biodynamically and certified organic too!

On the eye it's a dark slightly mauve plum colour. Aromas literally race out of the glass of stewed cherries and plums. It's jammy yet savoury with distinct farmy and earthy notes, a bit of leather in there too. Lovely rounded palate, distinct drying tannins on the finish with an alcohol kick that warms the throat. Great balance of fruity and earthy flavours.

This one hit the spot with spaghetti and meatballs. Enough tannins and the right sort of sweet fruit to sit well with the sauce and meatballs without competing. It's a drink now and enjoy style - I wouldn't be cellaring it or looking for too much depth.
