Left this exposed to air for 90 mins, before approaching it. Nice classic chard presentation. Moderate oak treatment leads into soft acidity, caramel and mature pineapples. Nice weighty mouthfeel. Very well done and probably peaking now.

WNH virtual tasting with Gary Farrell wines. 2015 Ritchie chard, 2014 Fort Ross Pinot and 2015 Rochioli Pinot were the library choices.

Ritchie vineyard Chardonnay’s are some of my favorites, due to the roasted cashew, more rich type profile they can sport. I’d say this lean towards a more restrained expression of Ritchie chard. A lot of this wine reminded me of certain Hudson Chardonnay’s with a very herbal/green crusted yellow fruit profile. The aromatics also show honeysuckle and some spiced pear, where the palate starts rich and viscous before finishing fairly tart...lots of grilled lemon. Drink up.

Nice Chardonnay with light malolactic inputs. Buttery, with acidic balance.

We detect that this is on its downswing. Oxidized on the nose, palate and visually. Flat and flabby - really disappointing.

New vineyard for this provider and, man, did it sing. Silky smooth with just the right amount of acidity on the finish. Wonderful stone fruit, cedar, and caramel. Looking forward to this vineyard for years to come.
