When they hand you the massive wine list and say “pick something interesting...within reason”. Pretty easy with Gargiulo on the list. Had the pleasure of meeting winemaker Kristof Anderson 2 years ago and toured the GV facility to see him in action. Amazing winery and some of the best grapes in the valley...what could go wrong? (Had them decant for an hour while the other guests roasted me on my second departure from Hard Rock Internaional on my way back to Darden for a second tour there...restaurant world is small.) Once poured out, it danced firmly across the palet. Still a little tight, but the dark fruits and medium tannins balanced out and went with the wagyu nicely.

Heck of a 3rd Friday to kick off the holidays!
Shocked this is a ‘15! Totally smooth. All over the fruit spectrum, red, blue and black. Vanilla pipe tobacco, plum, toasted coconut, and a slick-currant/cool climate/underripe dark fruit finish.

This is a model of restraint and balance. Nice notes of cinnamon and caramel on the nose. The palate is smooth and completely linear. Tannins are still prominent, but tucked in nicely. Finishes moderately sweet, with hints of cherries and barrel toast.

Definitely not the opulent and lush G major seven that I am used to. This is more of a pop and poor and forget about it.. very disappointing to say the least!

Checking in on this to how they are progressing. Not a super complex wine, good but gets over shadowed by many others in this category.

Jan 1st, 2018Uncorked a 3L for our dear friends whom just finished building their badass outdoor Tiki hut and bar! Badass tiki deserves a badass wine. This G Major 7 did the trick. Definitely my favorite from the GARGIULO lineup. Smooth as silk with depth of flavor. The blue fruit is prominently displayed which I adore. Oak is nicely integrated. Awesome finish of 60+ seconds. I buy this stuff automatically by the case load every year. What an incredible steadfast Winery they are! Literally never had a bad vintage. Even my 2011’s were rockstars.
Badass Tiki Hut deserves Badass in a Glass and this did the job! Cheers! 👍🍷🍷👍.
