Took a shot at the last dusty bottle on the shelf - call it an homage to @"Odedi" - ended up being stunning: inky opaque dark dense & mysterious... after more than an hour (and throughout rest of night & next day) finally yielding generous blackberry, plum, black cherry and an absolute slew of authentic secondary notes of mineral, saddle leather, tobacco, menthol, meat, white pepper - so complex. Old World. Thick rich broad across palate, lingering finish. This wine had me grinning ear to ear - especially @ $18!

Very good Syrah. On the nose it has a perfume type aroma, with hints of berries such as blue berries. The palate is smooth, and balanced. Tannins are moderately strong but not too strong. It doesn’t leave a burning sensation in the back of your throat.

Jun 2nd, 2017Fantastic wine. Dark ruby colour. Instant intense tannins of licorice, dark berries and mint, with a strong, but smooth earthy finish. Paired lovely with a charcuterie plate.
