La Boudriotte Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

Already open with creamy, round character and white button mushroom with cream.

A mix of pear, apple, and lemon, with honey, butterscotch, licorice, and sea salt. Adding to the complexity is a burnt edge that is evident but subtile. Minerals and herbs take control of the racy finish, but manage to deftly glide this through to a long, gentle landing.

Minty, stony, and full of apple and pear fruit. In a very good spot right now.

Dominated by acid right now. Some pleasant secondary aromatics, but god this guy is tense on the palate. Not showing much and I fear it never will.

2024/8/10. I suppose the awesome meal may have affected my judgement, but this seemed like what you hope for in a Chassagne 1er - not overly effusive, but broad, savory, earthy, a good balance of fruit, mineral and toast

Not as good as it once was, but a good once as it ever was. Mildly oxidized but not bad for a 22 year old mid-shelf chardonnay

Citrus. Granny Smith apple. Honey.

2008 vintage. At Hostellerie de Levernois. Pale lemon hue. Very mineral and citrus, crushed rock and grapefruit. On the palate, high acidity, medium minus body and medium alcohol. Medium minus finish. Medium minus concentration. Quite ordinary. Will drink for another 5 years.
