Light to medium nose of red cherry and some earth. Sour cherry, tar, earth and medium plus tannins make up the flavor profile that is a touch thin, but enjoyable. Dry, medium finish with sour cherry and wood spice.

Let it breath! Decant for an hour to soften this up a bit, and let the clay pot & dark fruits peek through. Aromas of smoky meat, and cerise. A bit light, and acidic. Tastes a bit older and more alcoholic than it is at 3 years and only 12.5%. Roasted tomato and raspberry. Not perfect but a great deal at less than $8

For the price you can't beat it! I was pleasantly surprised how good it is. I will be making a trip back to trader joes for more once I'm done tasting the 5 others purchased to test

Crazy cheap developed into crazy good... for a $10 Trader Joe's mom purchase "too old for me to drink".... thanks mom So much smoked meat, herbaciousness, fruit subtle and in tune, acid tannin all in balance

For $5, really can’t complain about this #chianticlassicoriserva. Good expression of varietal character, earthy spice; not much more aromatics but tartness and fruit are nicely balanced - paired happily with vegetable lasagna.
