Toasty, buttery, with lemon and grapefruit on the nose and palate. A nice chalky minerality and scrumptious acidity. Delicate bubbles. Lovely!

Very round champagne, toasty, nutty notes. Fine bubbles, easy drinking.

A solid 2nd place

Opened this not expecting much as it appeared to have been multiply re-gifted over time (sales receipt 12/20/05 inside the box). And while it did not live up to some of the other champagnes I have had recently, it did have a pleasing oxidative/fruit tension clean acid and fine/restrained/fading carbonation. Ended up using a little less than I had planned for cooking.

Lusciously beautiful champagne, just brings out the light sweetness with notes of fresh fruit and lemon🔹

It's clear that it holds up super well! The bouquet combines fruity notes of pear, hint of orange blossom, brioche notes and almonds in complete coherence. It's digestible and long in the mouth. It can be drunk well in all circumstances without leaving a headache.

Force est de constater que ça tient super bien la route! Le bouquet associe notes fruitées de poire, pointe de fleur d’oranger, notes briochées et amandes en toute cohérence. C’est digeste et long en bouche. Ça se boit bien en toute circonstance sans laisser de mal de tête.

Good 2000 vintage of this cordon rouge. Sherry like characteristics, lemony, almond.
