It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a gorgeous one.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Dry and very fruity on the palate, with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, earth, licorice, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel.
Smooth and elegant, with a gorgeous nose. Rich, extracted and so enjoyable by itself.

This 10 year old is good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
Love these Napa Bordeaux Blends, especially from this great 2013 vintage.
A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Grapes are from Oakville and Stags Leap regions, and were fermented together. 559 cases produced.
14.7% alcohol by volume.

Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.
En mag 😳. Obviously crazy youthful, but there was a rambunctiousness to it that made this very fun to drink. I kept describing the wine as high toned/lifted. Incredibly perfumed and aromatic...sweet liqueur, kirsch, decadent blue and black fruits abound here. It’s very silky and suave on the palate with fine grained tannins. Sandalwood, creme de cassis, espresso, potpourri and dark chocolate dipped fruits are the stars of the show for this beautiful wine.

Recently arrived and showing very well already. Great concentration and density. Blackberry, flowers, and gravel on the nose. Firm structure, but plush enough to be enjoyable now. I can see this aging well.

Tasted after the 2011 Oakville with Tom. Dark and deep purplish ruby red. Velvety feel on the nose, perfumey and floral with dark red berries. Heavy tannins (8/10) with a beautiful structure. Tons of fruit in the attack, fuller in the mid palate. Black raspberries and black cherries. Strong undertones of dark cocoa. Full bodied and super long finish. Drink till 2042. (96+)
Around 2/3 of the fruit is from the Oakville Vineyard while the other third comes from the quarry section of the Stags Leap District Vineyard. Bordeaux blend made of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.

A lovely wine. Chocolate and a hint of raspberry on the nose. Good tannins structure. Well balanced with a super long finish that goes on and on. Really lovely.
