Schloss Johannisberger Grunlack Spätlese Riesling
Rheingau, Germany

Apricot and white stonefruit aromas and flavors, somewhat rich (10% ABV), of course great acidity, drinking beautifully tonight, long, lingering finish, love these old off-dry Rieslings!!

Jun 18th, 2026I think Suckling gave this 100 points? So I got two and one is going to sit in my basement for 10-20 years.
What can I say?? We got a dozen oysters and a big pate of foie gras that we sliced for on top and broiled together for a few minutes. Sometimes you can touch heaven.

A wonderful Riesling from Rheingau Germany 🇩🇪. The nose had intense pear 🍐, green apple 🍏, lemon 🍋, peach 🍑, lime peel and apricot. The palate brought stone fruit, honey 🍯, hints of mineral (stones), honeysuckle, pineapple 🍍, crispy green apple 🍏 and lime. Overall a perfectly balanced wine with high acidity, off dry (smells sweeter than it tastes) with complexity. Pairs perfectly with spicy food, pork and cured meats. 😁

Jun 14th, 2021A great bottle of wine. I chilled it a bit more than I usually would as it is a bit sweeter than I am used to.
