Not fair since I had tasted several old vintages a day prior. With age, a true gem. It’s a good cab now but gotta think a few years it’ll be bangin’.

Medium ruby in color, this time punches above its color. Vibrant aromas of wild berries, cassis and vanilla are mixed with savory herbs and saddle leather. The texture is soft, full and concentrated; big dark fruit and a tinge of that famed Rutherford dust linger on the silky finish.

Would have rather opened it in five years but definitely opens up. Plum, black pepper, bell pepper, pencil shavings (yes really), some reddish fruit I can’t identify. It’s tannic but not obtrusive

Tart strawberries to start. Needs to open, but expecting more goodness.

Disappointing. I’m a big fan of FL, but this one fell short. Originally purchased the bottle for a gift, but ended up drinking it myself. Good thing.

Estate grown (Rutherford) Cab Sauv. Great structure but a bit light on body and color. (not the expected traditional California Cab). Dark fruits, cassis and mocha. Small amounts of Merlot and Cab Franc were added too “Beef” this wine up. The finish is bright, restrained and satiny smooth. Good wine, (gets better as it opens up) but I have sampled better efforts from this producer.

One of the nicest bottles I've had in a while. Grea balance between power and finesse.
