Freeman Vineyard & Winery
Ryo-fu Russian River Valley Chardonnay

15’ This is so much better then it was a year ago. (Backwards, acidity overwhelmed the wine), honeycomb, creaminess to it . Modest tropical notes throughout the palate. Light acidity starting from the middle of the palate, running to the back. Absolutely delicious. Recommend! Edit- crowdpleaser, completely approachable. Pop 30 minutes prior to serving.

15 Freeman Ryo- Fu Chardonnay. Combination of Keefer & Heintz Ranch Vineyards.
Golden in color. Lily’s and ginger on the nose. The palate has come together in the last eight months. It’s full of a splash of creamy tiramisu, lemon zest, ginger, slight influence of oak. Mostly mid & back palate. Complexity on the back palate is 👍. Nothing quite like this on the market. Drinking better than it did this past fall. Curious to see if the front palate will come together by years end.

Lean with lots of mineralogy and class. Filled out with some time open. Very nice...

If I were more of a Chardonnay drinker I'd be drinking a lot more of this Chardonnay.

The wine was served at the State dinner couple times. Mostly sourced fruits but for 2018 it included a small portion from their Yu-Ki estate vineyard.
A fragrant bouquet of Asian pear, peach, lemon custard, and light fresh herbs. The palate is round and textured but remains light on its feet with fresh acidity. Nice touch a saline mineral on the finish.
