Delish. Explodes on the palate. Remarkably dark fruited. Tiny bit of Brett. Rustic in that way.

2021 vintage. Medium-heavy body. The experience is sped up and comes rushing in terrifying quickly with this effort. NOT a chill red Burg. California stylistically. Riper. Fuller. Ruchots is located across the road from Grand Cru vineyards of Clos-De-Tart and Bonnes-Mares. This did not suck. 10.8.25.

Perhaps it's the insanely aromatic, delicious, soul-satisfying bacon and heirloom beans that my husband paired it with...or maybe it's just that good. Perfumed, fresh fruit, structured, complex, juicy, mineraly (not an official word) I'm happy.

Big and animal. Lots of good funk and wild sappy fruit. Delivers pretty immediate pleasure, but on the bigger side of Burgundy. Aged in clay amphorae and barrel.

Oof, lovely balance of power and finesse. Wild-grown red and black cherries/berries with a tug-of-war between earth and fruit. Some clay. Tannins still need some integration and this vintage would be best with a few more years; 4-8 ideal. Lovely to drink; enjoyed with duck which was a treat to pair.

A bit wild and feral, but all the elements of greatness.

Interesting, complex aromatics. Some brettanomyces funk at first and then fig, pomegranate, allspice, clove, pepper, and smoke comes out. As it gets some O2, some tomato and iron notes emerge.

Palate opens with cherry and raspberry leaning to the dried side of things. Figs and dates come to mind as well. The allspice, pepper and black tea notes finish things out. Acidity is medium and tannins are still pretty burley and course, especially given its age.

Another tasty wine from a producer I really like. The purity of fruit, spice complexities, and robust tannin structure seem to be their signature.
