Franz Hirtzberger
Pluris Smaragd Grauburgunder
Honey, melon, and stone on the nose. Smooth, richly fruited but finishes dry with impressively snappy acidity. Great bottle development with plenty of years ahead of it. 14.5% alc.

Sep 14th, 2014So I did the thing where I had a three hour lunch with friends and this was one of the bottles we opened. It's the only Pinot Gris from Austria that I've ever had, and I'll definitely have it again. It was incredible, lush, high acid and remarkably complex.
